Packers vs. Lions: Betting Trends

Week 2

The NFL betting lines of this regular-season game a month after training camp stayed under 7 points during the last week. Meanwhile, Aaron Rodgers was 25-3 as a home favorite against the spread.

Injuries on offense and defense were a key factor leading up to the game, making it difficult for the Lions to cover the spread. This was despite past matchups projecting a close game.

Week 14

The Packers were road favorites. They had a 9-3 overall record and were attempting to win their third game in a row. Additionally, QB Rogers was 6-1 in indoor games as a road favorite of 6+ points.

These stats help explain why Green Bay opened as -8 favorites.

The line saw some movement during the week, largely due to the Lions’ injury report that showed several starters were ruled out for the division game.

Packers vs Lions: How to Bet

When betting on an NFL game, you have various betting types from which to pick. You could use them for Packers vs. Lions and other NFC North matchups, including the Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings, for example.

Point Spread: These bets are determined by the number of points the NFL team wins or loses by. The favorite is signified by a minus sign (Kansas City Chiefs -3), and the underdog by a plus sign (Houston Texans +3, for example).

Point Total: This wager is also known as an over/under bet. It projects the number of points the two teams score in a game, such as between the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants.

Live Betting: This type of bet permits you to wager after the NFL game starts yet before the referee’s final whistle between the Atlanta Falcons and Baltimore Ravens, for example.

Teasers: The bettor can move each bet’s point spread to a more favorable line. Take note that this betting action decreases the betting odds of football picks in NFL games like Colts vs. Raiders, for example.

Parlays: This is a multiple-leg wager popular in NBA and NFL betting. It requires you to win each and every leg to win the entire bet. Parlays may include bets on the Titans, Jaguars, Clippers and Lakers, for example.

Moneyline: This is a straight-up bet that requires you to pick the NFL game’s winner or loser in a match, like the Los Angeles Rams vs. New Orleans Saints.

Prop Bet: A proposition bet is a wager on an individual player or a specific event. Most prop bets are on an individual player rather than the entire team. An example would be “In the Steelers vs. Seahawks matchup, who will make the first TD?”

Will the Detroit Lions finally get a lead over the Green Bay Packers? How have the two NFL teams performed in their all-time series?
